Finished: Cable Socks

Finally, I have a pair of cable socks!!!

I'm so incredibly proud of this pair!

And the second sock knitted up as quickly as the first, even though i did hold my breath until the gusset and heel were done! But certainly no "Second Sock Syndrome" here!

They are super snuggly and comfy!!! I'm (almost) looking forward to winter now to show them off!!!
So that's two of my New Years Resolutions (knitting socks and learning to cable) ticked off in one go!

The pattern for these can be found here and the yarn used is Araucania Ranco Multy; Fingering [Number 498], which I purchased from Meadow Yarn.

Thats all for now. Until next time, you take care now x

Happiness is....

Ive stolen this idea (from Vanessa over at the always gorgeous Coco Rose Diaries)  as it seemed very appropriate today!

Yesterday my bestie and I were wondering around our local charity shop (small and quaint but always great fun!). Then i spotted something over on the "brick-a-brack" shelves. After I had just finished telling her about my want to decorate the main bathroom from its very bland and boring current state to a pale yet bright yellow, i saw these...

Boxed as new, and only £3!

They will go perfectly with the new (eventual) scheme!

So thats my little bit of Happiness of the last 24 hours!!

For those who refuse to step into a charity shop, you're missing a big trick!

Thats all for now!
Until next time, you take care now x

Reversible Project bag

Hello all!

I decided to treat myself to some new fabric the other day from a lovely new little Aladdin's Cave of a shop i found around the corner form me;

And although the original concept for buying these fabrics is still hanging in the back on my mind, i decided to create a new little project bag for sock knitting or Little Cotton Rabbit making etc!

I found this fantastic tutorial for a reversible project bag from Luvin the mommyhood and set out to instantly replicate it!
This is what i ended up with...

Its a bit bigger than i initially intened to make, but its super cute and  works really well!
I can see a couple of these being made for presents in the future!

I also seen so many gorgeous little project bags i would love to have a go at making:

This is from Sew Mama Sew.

This is from Three Bears.

This is from Art Fire.

So many!

Thats all for now, Until next time, you take care now x

Back on the (knitting) wagon

What???! Two posts in one week??!

Whats all this???!

Yes its true, i think i have found my groove again! (Hooray!)

Two WIPS to share now...

After being all on its lonesome for so long, i finally bit the bullet and cast on the other cable sock!  God i love those colours!!

...and the other...

My boyfriend cardigan is sloooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwlllllllly coming together. At. Long. Last.

I aim to get this finished before this winter!!! Although i will have to purchase some new needles for its completion; i.e. very long, bamboo, cable, 3.5 needles. Other wise there is just no way i can get the edging finished!

Right, im off to flop in front of the telly!

Enjoy the sunshine whilst it lasts!!
Thats all for now! Until next time, you take care now x

An Elephant never forgets...

Well, i finally got around to doing some knitting again over the last few days and im happy to introduce...

Although he turned out a little bigger than i expected (due to the awful yarn i had to use up!), and the clothes are a little snug on him, im happy he has made it into the world!
He is another brilliant and adorable design from the amazing Julie Williams from Little Cotton Rabbits. It took me about 3 attempts to get that trunk right until i had to take the whole trunk out and start again! - You will understand when you come to make it yourself!

Next time i make one (and there will be a next time if my little people are anything to go by!), i will use lovely yarn again!

He is for my niece who is expecting a little boy in August.

It was lovely to sit down and do some knitting again each evening. Ive missed it! But i really must get on and finished my cardigan!

Thats all for now. Until next time, you take care now! x

Lop, Hop and two smoking Bunnies!

Im dreadful! I know!

Ive been busy settling into our beautiful home and i can honestly say ive never been happier!

Some of you may have noticed i deleted the last blog post, but that was because we had a change of plan.
We were planning to have two baby English Lop Eared rabbits come to our family, but then i went to our local rescue....and.....

Meet "Marshall" (the gray lop) and "Sky".

They are only about a year old but have been at the shelter since January! There were over 80 rabbits, all adorable and all looking for new and forever homes. I would have taken them all, but we were only in the market for two!
I kept walking around and around all the hutches/runs and so many seemed friendly, but something about these two kept pulling me back to them. I was then told i could sit in their run with them and feed them some veg. They both came straight up to me and ate out of my hand! I was sold!

Anyway, the next day, they were with us!

Here is the story of their new home:

And the finished insides:

Needless to say, it doesnt look this clean and tidy any more!!!

And a few bits have been changed/improved since they arrived!

They are very sweet and friendly bunnies and im so pleased we could get them out of the rescue and into a forever home with us!

Thats all for now! Until next time, you take care now x

Moving house: Part Two

Sorry for the delay all! Our internet is very slow at the minute and ive had no time to sit at the computer all week!

Anyway, lets crack on!

This is not only part two, but it will be followed by a "before and after" post...in theory!

Im so happy here its unbelievable! Its like we have always been here and ive already made a special friend here and the children are so incredibly happy with their new schools, so i couldnt be more thrilled!

Here are some shots of our new (and forever) home...the open kitchen/diner/day-room...

The day-room...

My lovely fire place in the lounge which is actually about 4ft high!...

Little Man's bedroom....(can you tell what he's in to???!)...

Young Lady's room....

There will be more, but i will add them into another post i have planned!

I hope you like the pictures! Im no expert at photography, but i hope they show a small amount of the lovely bits of the house!

Until next time, you take care now x
